Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, located in Northeast Tanzania, near the Kenya border. Kilimanjaro is an extinct volcano, and world’s highest free standing mountain. Mt.Kilimanjaro, with its three volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira, is an inactive stratovolcano in north-eastern Tanzania at 5,893meters or 19,334ft above sea level (the Uhuru Peak / Kibo Peak).

The mountain intrigues its visitors by its uniqueness. Its slopes are covered by a variety of vegetations as well as a variety of ecological systems. Plantations, mostly of coffee, for which Tanzania is famous, cover its lowest slopes. Higher up lies a tropical rainforest, followed by heath, moor land, Transcend Adventures deserts and the ice-capped summit.
