Day 1- Coimbatore arrival + Road-trip preparation

We start the road trip in Tamil Nadu with our first stop being Coimbatore.

Coimbatore being the second-largest city in the state draws a lot of tourists. But, will it take your breath away? The environment is tranquil and the scenic beauty of the place is bound to blow away your minds. The shrines and the temples of the city are world-famous for their enriched history. Dhyanalinga Temple, Marudamalai Temple, Eachanari Vinayagar Temple, Perur Pateeswarar Temple are just to name a few temples that have gorgeous architecture.

The Western Ghat assure pleasant weather and the presence of different waterfalls and green forests make it all the more worthy. The place will fuel you up for the rest of the Tamil Nadu road trip, and for this, we have chosen it to be the starting point.

Day 2- Visit Isha- drive to Ooty- overnight at Ooty

Isha which is just located 40 kilometres away from the Coimbatore airport is truly a mesmerizing place. It is a spiritual, entirely non-profit organization founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The entry is completely free. Run by volunteers, the place gives off a different aura!

Ooty which is also nicknamed the ‘Queen of the Nilgiris’ is a dreamland for all us mountain lovers. The lush green forests around the Nilgiri mountains and the panoramic views draw tourists to this quaint hill station. Ooty is perfect for all ages and is ideal if you are looking for some quiet time with your near and dear ones during this road trip in Tamil Nadu.

Day 3- Drive to Mudumalai Tiger Reserve

Mudumalai Tiger Reserve is just a 90-kilometre drive from Ooty. The ambience is worth everything with the weather being a bit colder than its surroundings. The safari is amazing, providing ample scopes for viewing a tiger!

Moreover, there is this evergreen scenic view which is exclusive at this Tiger Reserve and cannot be explained in mere words. Spend the night breathing in the majestic views that Ooty has to offer.

Day 4- Stay at Ooty

Day 5- Early morning drive to Kodaikanal

Kodaikanal which is also stated as the Crown Princess of all hill stations is a beauty that should not be missed at any cost. It offers mist and foggy slopes that seem like a green blanket from far away.

This land of lakes, forests, and hills is a perfect getaway for spending a night or two. Situated in the bosom of Palani Hills, Kodaikanal is a place you can visit if you want to escape the daily chaotic city life. The air is pure and fresh, and will surely rejuvenate you.

Day 6- Stay at Kodaikanal

Be it boating or exploring some haunted caves- Kodaikanal is a fun stop on this road trip to Tamil Nadu.

Are you a fan of the sparkling waters? Opt for boating in the Kodaikanal Lake! It also happens to be a manmade one. For a spine-tingling affair, do visit the Guna Caves which are reportedly haunted! You might have seen Pine forests in movies, but in Kodaikanal, you get to see them right in front of your eyes!

You can go walking, trekking, or even biking through the lofty green slopes of Kodaikanal.

Day 7- Drive to Courtallam and overnight stay

This land of exotic beauty is filled with royal waterfalls. Being home to 9 major waterfalls, Courtallam is also known as ‘Spa of the South’. Apart from having charming scenic beauty, there are also a lot of historical and mythical places to visit in Courtallam.

Day 8- Drive to Kanyakumari and overnight stay

Kanyakumari or ‘The Land’s end’ is a quaint coastal town located at the end of Tamil Nadu. Offering views of two seas and an ocean- Kanyakumari has endless things to offer.

The silver beaches, mountains, palm, and coconut trees are a treat to the human-eyes. The Kanyakumari Temple, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Statue of the Poet Thiruvalluvar, the Padmanabhapuram Palace, the Vattakottai Fort are just some of the innumerable things to see in Kanyakumari during your road trip in Tamil Nadu.

Day 9- Drive to Rameshwaram

Did you know Rameshwaram happens to be one of the holiest places in India? According to the Indian mythology, in Ramayana, this was the particular place from which Sri Ramachandra constructed the bridge to go to Lanka.

Being on an island, Rameshwaram is an embodiment of divine beauty. It is well known for its architecture and huge decorated carved pillars. The Ramanathaswamy Temple and the Five-faced Hanuman Temple are two religious places in Rameshwaram that you must visit.

Day 10- Drive to Tanjore (Brihadeeswara Temple)

Drive to Tanjore also known as rice bowl of tamilnadu. The first rose of prominence during the regin of Cholas.

Tanjore is an important pilgrim centre and a major tourist destination of Tamil Nadu, which is also an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 11th Century by the King Raja Raja Chola, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Amust visit place to know about the Dravidian Culture and Architecture.

Day 11- Drive to Chidambaram (Chidambaram Nataraja Cosmic Dance) Temple

Chidambaram is a traditional place that has seen the rise and the fall of five major dynasties! It plays host to some of the most beautiful temples of the South along with vivid architecture decorated in the Dravidian style.

Are you a bird lover? Chidambaram houses some of the most uncommon birds in India and is a completely delightful place for nature lovers. A day spent in Chidambaram is just letting yourself relax among the beautiful nature, and soaking in the vicinity of a cultural past at the same time!

Moreover, the Chidambaram Temple showcases Lord Shiva in a Nataraja form and also happens to be the only temple in the entire India to do so. This is one of those scenes that should not be missed on your road trip in Tamil Nadu.

Day 12- Chidambaram – Pondicherry (Auroville)

Do you admire the French art style? Pondicherry might be the dreamland you were searching for! Located in India, Pondicherry reeks of France and is also rightfully known as ‘French Riviera of the East’.

A visit to Pondicherry on your road trip in Tamil Nadu will beautify your Instagram feed for the place might be the most picturesque location you have ever seen in your lives. It is almost like walking through the cobblestoned roads of Europe, pastel-coloured houses with bougainvilleas climbing over their boundary walls! Day 13 – Pondicherry – Mahabalipuram – Chennai

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However no refund will be provided for the same.
