The Ladakh expedition was an eye opener to the beauty of the Himalayas. I loved the team and the way they treat the clients. I would strongly recommend Triumph Expeditions to any adventurer.

The Leh-Manali Highway is a high mountain road situated in India. It spans over a length of 479 km (298 mi) among the Himalaya mountain range. It passes through some of the world’s highest mountain passes in the world, with a mean altitude between 2 to 3 miles above sea level. Uncertain weather, high altitude, extreme cold and no civilization for miles make this a very treacherous track.

Trip Details

The Most Jaw-Dropping, Bone Chilling winter expedition gives an experience of awe to the traveler. Very few take this path to experience the Himalayas in Winter. The beauty of the landscape is simply amazing. Snow and whiteout everywhere, frozen brooks, rivers, lakes, and ponds. Experience the beauty of this land like no other place in this world. This is the closest one can get to the bone-chilling lower temperatures falling below 0 at any point of time during this expedition. Winter Expedition to the Leh-Ladakh Region falls only during the month of January.

Route : Leh-Pangong-Nubra-Turtuk-Nubra-Khardung la-Leh

Ladakh is open for tourists throughout the year, while the best period for the cultural tour is between April and October ending. For adventure tours from June to October is the suitable period. Most of the trekking routes are closed after November due to snow at high passes except the Liker to Khaltsey trek. The best period for Chadar-trek (frozen river trek) to Zanskar is from January to mid-March.

The festivals of Stok, Matho and New Year take place in winter and it is possible to visit monasteries in winters. There are few hotels and guest houses with heating facilities in Leh that provide accommodation in winter.

Triumph Expeditions organize bike and car trips at Summer and only car trips during winter.

Ladakh is spread over an area of 97,000 Sq. Kms and lies on an average of 3500 meters above the sea level. Ladakh has a population of around 1,70,000.
