Overview
Iduhatty is a little village or hamlet in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris District’s Udhagamandalam Block.
Five of the 20 unique symbols in Iduhatty resemble those of Ice Period Europe.Using red ochre, the symbols were painted (iron oxide).The similarity to European cave art locations may indicate that modern humans first entered the Nilgiris as early as 10,000 to 40,000 years ago.
